This watchtower sits on the ridge separating Amalfi and Atrani. Legend says the Duchess Giovanna d'Aragona was imprisoned here for her scandalous affair. The easiest starting point is Pontone (reachable by bus from Amalfi). From the Pontone square, the hike is an easy-to-moderate 4-5 km loop (approx. 2-3 hours) through pine forests offering plenty of shade. The view from the platform next to the tower is arguably the best on the entire coast.
