Cards work in many places, but cash is still useful on the coast: small kiosks, beach extras, tips, tiny purchases, or moments when a payment terminal is down. Withdraw in town during normal hours when possible, and if your bank asks about currency conversion, choose EUR rather than dynamic conversion.
